Seniors

After a disappointing loss last week, it was important for us to put a win on the board to help keep us in the top four. The boys were up to the task and after a tight first quarter, we pulled away to a five goal lead at half time. After the break we kept the pressure on and ran out 56 point winners. Danny O was great up forward with 5 goals while the best players included Scully, Lachie, Stynesy, Jimmy, Kieran and Damien Mu.

Goals: Danny Osbaldeston 5, David Stynes 2, Muhummad Kiki 2, Luke Riley 2, 1 each to Damien Mu, Toby Smithers and Scott Torpy.

Reserves

The reserves took on Sandown hoping to get their season back on track. Unfortunately a very poor first half saw the boys down by ten goals to one. After shuffling the side around at half time, the boys came and played like a completely different side to the one that ran around in the firts half. Suddenly we started hitting targets and found the run that was missing earlier. The second half saw us match them on the scoreboard and showed what we are capable of when switched on. Trent James played his best game for the club, racking up plenty of touches on the wing. Adam Martin repelled numerous attacks down back and Chipper continually ran the ball out of defence. Tim Deniese battled hard all day in the ruck and Sean Jackson along with sidekicks Steele and Trent, gave us plenty of run around the ground.

The way the boys played in the second half shows that the talent and ability is definitely there, its just a matter of putting it together for a whole game. Although it was dissappointing to lose, we can certainly take many positives out of the game and look forward to a big challenge this week against Mt Waverley.

Best: Trent James, Adam Martin, Shaun Jackson, Tim De Niese, Tim Caterson, Michael Chippendale

Goals: Cameron French 2, Matthew White 2, 1 each to Luke Pottinger, Trent Barlow and Ben Hyrons.
